Product Updates
1. New skills in Outdoor Maintenance, Painting, and Home Improvements categories
- What this means: In the Outdoor Maintenance category, you can now activate two new skills: Landscaping Help and Branch & Hedge Trimming. In the Painting category, you can now activate even more skills: Wallpapering, Outdoor Painting, and Concrete & Brick Painting. Finally, in the Home Improvements category, you can now activate Door, Cabinet, & Furniture Repair; Wall Repair; Sealing & Caulking; Appliance Installation & Repairs; Window & Blinds Repair; and Flooring & Tiling Help.
- Why we did it: As part of our effort to restructure overarching task categories, we wanted to add new, in-demand skills to the Tasker app so you can be more specific about the types of jobs you want. Your reviews, task history, and performance analytics from previous related tasks aren’t going anywhere—on the recommendations page, clients will see the number of tasks you’ve done in the category they’re interested in and the number of tasks you’ve completed overall.
- Please note: Clients are not yet able to book you in these new skills. We wanted to give you some time to opt in before these skills go live for clients later this summer.

2. New Tasker app release FAQs
- What this means: We’ve added this post to our blog to answer your FAQs about how we manage our Tasker app release process. You can also find it linked at the top and bottom of each new app update post.
- Why we did it: We wanted to answer questions we’ve received from multiple Taskers about what the app updating process involves. Because app creation is a complicated process, we wanted to be transparent about what is happening behind the scenes!
Bug fixes
- On June 27, 2023, we identified a bug that was preventing Minor Home Repairs from showing up as a skill on your Tasker profile. We’ve since fixed that bug, and you can now view, add, or edit the skill in your Tasker app. Clients can also continue to hire you directly for these services. We apologize for any impact to your business and truly appreciate your loyalty to our platform!
