Ardent football fans will know it’s not the outcome of the game, but how you host the viewing party that matters. Follow these tips to ensure a winning game day celebration—no matter if your team goes home with the trophy.
Game Day Menu
We’ll just go ahead and state the obvious: game day fuel is just as important as the game itself. Really though. Over 120 million pounds of avocados and 1.25 billion chicken wings are consumed on the Sunday of the big game each year. Whether it’s staples like pizza and dip or a twist on a classic like beer margaritas and tater tot nachos, we’ve rounded up some of our game day favorites. (And with a Tasker’s help, you don’t need to worry about cleanup.)

Decor That Scores
A little decoration goes a long way in amping up the party energy. We love this DIY football field table cover and matching pennants made from outdoor carpet and white felt. For additional game day flair, add chalkboards, hanging lanterns, and your team logo to the food table. If you want to up the ante, create some friendly competition with side games. Our favorite: see who can most quickly guess the subject of each commercial.

Fan Zone
Many of the best parties are standing room only, but plan for plenty of comfortable seating in case the game becomes a nail-biter. For small spaces, assemble a homemade “stadium” with seating of different heights, from bean bags to couches and canvas camp chairs to bar stools. If your TV is on a low stand, consider mounting it to the wall for a better viewing experience.

Call in the reinforcements for game day, and prepare for kickoff!
