Keep it Easy this Memorial Day!

Farewell, Spring! We knew thee well! (Too well, if you ask us—we’re talking to you, seasonal allergies.) So let’s say sayonara to sneezing and wheezing and kick off summer the right way: Let’s BARBECUE!

Whether you’re tailgating at your favorite sporting event or enjoying a cozy barbecue by the bonfire, you’ll need the Official Taskrabbit Guide to THE PERFECT MEMORIAL DAY BBQ!

1. Create the guest list

Don’t be shy. The more the merrier! Plus, this is a great time to invite your neighbors over for a casual meet and greet. (We like to use Eventbrite.com to send out invites. It’s Earth-friendly and helps us stay organized with RSVPs.)

2. Plan the menu

There’s no need to pay an arm and a leg for all the food. Barbecues are a fantastic time to have a potluck. Ask each guest to bring their favorite proteins or veggies to throw on the ‘cue. This way, everyone gets to try new foods and no one has to foot a BIG bill. (Phew.)

3. Compile a shopping list early

You WILL forget things. This is inevitable. But don’t sweat—just make a handy list ahead of time so you can stay organized.

4. Don’t forget the small details

When you’re planning a party, things like sunscreen for guests, citronella candles, and toothpicks can be hard to remember. Don’t stress out if you forget a few things. Taskrabbit is standing by for last-minute store runs on the big day.

5. Take pictures

You’ll want to remember this party forever. Go old-school with a disposable camera and take some fun pics that you can print out and/or post online.

6. Relax and have fun!

It’s tough work being a host. You’ve got to tend to the grill, chat with guests, and make sure the Spotify playlist is on point. But don’t let the day get away from you! Take time to put your feet up, enjoy a hot dog, and savor your awesome weekend.
