We’re excited to share our newest roundup of big updates that we anticipate will help you boost your earnings and smoothly run your business on the Tasker app. Check out highlights below, and keep your eyes peeled for future roundup emails to stay informed about new developments!
1. Tasker retirement plans
Shhh! Don’t say anything—but we’ve partnered with a prominent financial services company that is offering IRA retirement plans for Taskers with a 2% boost in the first year of enrollment! Terms and conditions apply. Keep your eyes on your inbox for more details! In the meantime, check out all our other Tasker perks here!
2. Quick, easy access to 1099-K forms
Retrieving your 1099-K during tax season is now easier than ever. Your Stripe Express portal is now the main way for you to access your 1099-K tax forms, which you’ll need to file your taxes if you earn $20,000 and have more than 200 transactions per year. And don’t forget about Keeper, a Tasker perk that will help you keep more of your hard-earned money during tax season!
3. New platform review options before background check
Prospective Taskers can now review, understand, and set up a profile on the Tasker app before paying their background check fee. This streamlined, in-app onboarding will be a much smoother experience for anyone aiming to build a business as a Tasker, as they’ll have the chance to understand Taskrabbit and all it has to offer before committing to the mandatory background check fee.
4. New skills under Minor Home Repairs
As part of our ongoing effort to restructure overarching task categories, we’ve added new, in-demand skills under the Minor Home Repairs category. These include Door, Cabinet, & Furniture Repair, Wall Repair, Sealing & Caulking, Appliance Installation & Repairs, Window & Blinds Repair, and Flooring & Tiling Help. The goal is to help you be more specific about the types of tasks you want to do while also making them easier to scope, and to give clients more clarity when booking!
5. Updated client cancellation policy for client no-shows
We’ve heard your questions and feedback about client cancellations, and starting February 16, our updated client cancellation policy will allow you to get paid for an hour of your time in the event of a client no-show. Taskers are not required to reconfirm the task time and date in the chat in order to qualify for a payout. We anticipate this will help reduce client cancellations and bring more clarity to both sides of our marketplace, but please note that Taskers with violations of the Taskrabbit Terms of Service in the past 90 days may not be eligible for last-minute cancellation payouts. Tasker Tip
Upsell your business! Your client may have hired you for one particular category, but doing a great job can open doors to tasks in other categories. If you notice that they might need help with another skill you offer, share your profile URL, and let them know they can hire you again. Read all about upselling here!
