• Cindy M.When a tasker named James previously installed a shower safety bar, I paid $47.64, total. Aaron installed 4 sets of drapes in about two hours, which was fine. Then, I had him to install a shower safety bar as well, exact same size, and it sure cost far more than $47.64. He had issues with the wrong drill and/or drill bits and a task that could easily take an hour stretched into 3 hours. And what is with the extra $105 Taskrabbit surcharge?? Totally never been billed that before. The "trust and support" fee is really the "take advantage of the customer" fee. Overall, spent $400, on a $200 job. I will wait for my handyman next time. I asked Jacob to install approximately 15 wall items across every room in my spacious two-bedroom unit, including shelves, artwork, framed diplomas, a dry erase board, a vacuum stand, and a broom/mop holder. He carefully marked each placement to match my preferences before hanging, ensured everything was securely installed based on weight and purpose, and took intentional steps to avoid making a mess. Although I had most of the necessary materials needed, he came fully prepared with his own tools, a step ladder, a level, and even extra picture-hanging hardware and anchors. He was punctual, attentive and patient throughout the entire process. Importantly, as a single woman living alone, there is always a level of uncomfortability associated with inviting a stranger into my home to complete these types of tasks. Although Jacob was pleasant and friendly, he also remained very respectful and professional, making me feel completely at ease having him in my home. And perhaps the best testament to his character—my somewhat human-wary and moderately territorial dog loved him immediately!
